CONTENDER CHARLIE, CHINA PLATE AND WARWICK ARTS CENTRE PRESENT
Macbeth – Blood Will Have Blood 2014 Pilot Tour
Following sell-out tours in spring 2013 and 2014, Contender Charlie, China Plate and Warwick Arts Centre join forces to pilot an innovative, one-man, digital production of Nick Walker’s hugely successful adaptation of Macbeth for 9-13 year-olds.
Trailer of the original immersive production of Macbeth – Blood Will Have Blood:
'I have never seen staff and pupils so enthusiastic and appreciative. A brilliant experience... Shakespeare will never be the same again!'
A macabre porter is trapped inside a two-dimensional portal. Summoned by the arrival of an audience, he leads us into the dark heart of Shakespeare's play, offering young audiences a glimpse of life under Scotland’s tyrant King.
Razor sharp storytelling, a dramatic on-screen world and a heart-stopping soundtrack take us on a break-neck journey through the blood-soaked world of Macbeth.
Reinvented for young audiences, Macbeth – Blood Will Have Blood’s pilot tour is an accessible and unforgettable introduction to Shakespeare’s shocking story of ambition, greed and the abuse of power.
‘Open mouthed. Even the most fidgety, hard to reach pupils were immersed and in the moment. You took them with you 100% and left them wanting more.’
A UNIQUE PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR KS2 & KS3 STUDENTS

'The experience had a huge impact on motivation – particularly with boys. They have certainly developed a greater vocabulary particularly in terms of feelings/character traits. The speaking and listening opportunities have been fantastic.'
